WELCOME
to the Cape Town musher’s website!

Cape Town Sledding was born in March 2008 - “For the Dogs... By the
Mushers”.

In recent years the sport of Dryland Sledding has gone from strength to
strength, especially in the Gauteng area under the guidance of various clubs
and organisations where it has taken on a formal structure with various
events throughout the year, culminating in the SA Championships under the
banner of SAFSS.

In Cape Town the enthusiasm, activity and number of participants have, in the
same number of years, been just as strong as our Gauteng counterparts but
lacked formal co-hesion resulting in the Cape Town teams having to run and
train as individuals and then to travel the vast distance to the SA Champs for
our only structured, competitive event.

Cape Town Sledding is an ASSOCIATION of like-minded people sharing a
common interest of sleddogs. CTS is open to anybody in the greater Cape
region who wants to particpate or feels they have something to
contribute to the sport of dog sledding.

Our aim is to unite all the mushers in the Western Cape on a permanent
basis...and it CAN be done—our common passion is our dogs…!

We hope that the information on this website is of use to both newbies
(rookies) as well as the old-timers of this amazing sport.
